Nortek is one of the few companies on earth with the actual ability to servo write a hard disk drive. We started out with 8" 10 / 20 / 40 MB drives; we designed and built our own servo writers, wrote our own software, and sourced replacement platters and heads. We basically designed an entire process to refurbish these drives from scratch.

Almost 30 years later, the technology has changed, but our process has not. We still design, build, and test our own electronics, write our own software, and source replacement components; Today the drives are physically as small as .85" and the capacities are measured in Gigabytes but many of the lessons learned in our product development cycle still apply.

We support all formats, capacities and OEMs including but not limited to: IBM, Toshiba, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Seagate, Western Digital, Quantum / Maxtor, and Samsung.

Form factors supported include:.85", 1", 1.8", 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 5 1/4", 8".

Interfaces supported include: ATA, ATAPI, EIDE, IDE, ATA-2, Fast ATA, ATA-3, ATA-4, ATA-5, ATA-6, Ultra ATA, Ultra DMA, SATA / Serial ATA, RAID, USB, SCSI, and Fiber Channel
