Exabyte marketed the EXB-8900 8mm tape drive themselves and supplied a wide variety of OEMs including IBM, Sun Microsystems, Dell and many others. Some failures the customer may encounter include the following:

Read retries
Read write failure

No I/F communication
Loud high pitch noise (noisy drum bearings)
